Addiction treatment that works for Houstonians
Houston is the sixth-largest city in America, and it has a substance use problem to match. The greater Houston area leads the state in opioid overdose deaths. While Houstonians have a reputation for excelling, this is one area where being at the top of the list is cause for alarm. Despite these concerning numbers, help is available. Workit Health brings accessible, evidence-backed addiction treatment to those people in Houston who want to get their lives back from alcohol and opioids.
Workit Health’s experienced, expert clinicians can prescribe FDA-approved medications, including Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) and naltrexone, to reduce your cravings and assist you toward long-term recovery. Our program provides nonjudgmental, science-backed behavioral health support to help you achieve your recovery goals—no matter what they are. With Workit’s telemedicine program, you have access to all this support and more from the privacy and comfort of home. (One in-person appointment may be required.)
269 Houstonians died from fentanyl overdose in 2020 alone. First responders administered the overdose rescue medication naloxone 60 times during that year. It’s time to make a change, and Workit wants to be part of the solution. No matter where you live in Houston, you can access gold-standard care from home with our in-app medical appointments, courses, and recovery groups. Get started with Workit Health’s virtual program in just a few minutes, and same-week appointments are often available. You don’t have to do this alone.

5) After your first visit, if clinically appropriate, the clinician will e-prescribe medication to your local pharmacy.

Taking Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) with other opioid medicines, benzodiazepines, alcohol, or other central nervous system depressants can cause breathing problems that can lead to coma and death. Other side effects may include headaches, nausea, vomiting, constipation, insomnia, pain, increased sweating, sleepiness, dizziness, coordination problems, physical dependence or abuse, and liver problems. I obtained my master’s degree in Art Therapy and a year later was working in medication treatment. I fell in love with the population and harm reduction. After moving around to different treatment modalities, I missed working in harm reduction. After managing an OTP for 2 years I found Workit Health. In today’s addiction treatment world, having a virtual platform will help decrease opioid-related deaths and finally bring this population access to services they deserve. I am humbled to be a part of this mission.
