What we'll be covering
April 9th: Understanding Grief in Recovery
Grief takes many forms in sobriety—from mourning people and relationships to grieving past choices and the life that could have been. In this session, Amy Dresner will break down the different types of grief in recovery, how they manifest emotionally, mentally, and physically, and how to begin the healing process.
April 16th: The Connection Between Grief and Substance Use
Many of us used substances to numb or escape our grief. In this session, Amy will discuss how grief can trigger cravings, unhealthy coping mechanisms, and emotional overwhelm—along with strategies for staying present and avoiding relapse.
April 23rd: Moving Through Grief With Self-Compassion
Rather than “getting over” grief, we learn to move through it. Amy Dresner will guide you through healthier coping strategies, self-forgiveness, and self-compassion to help process grief without shame or self-destruction.
April 30th: Finding Meaning After Loss
Grief can reshape us, but it doesn’t have to define us. In this final session, Amy will explore ways to honor loss while building a meaningful, fulfilling life in recovery. Topics include gratitude, service, and reframing loss as part of growth.
